William Nibbelin joined the Insurance Information Institute in October 2023 as a Senior Research Actuary. In his current role, he conducts research and collects, distills, and reports on information to provide thought-leading insights into risk and insurance.
William has more than twenty years of experience as a problem solver in the health insurance industry and the property casualty insurance industry from actuarial pricing, reserving, and product management to risk adjustment analytics and operations. He assisted in the creation and implementation of the first predictive generalized linear models for personal lines insurance at Kemper and the first prescriptive identification analytics model for risk adjustment engagement campaigns of Affordable Care Act membership at Florida Blue.
Based in the Chicago area, born and raised in California, William has a B.A. in Applied Mathematics from the University of California Berkely and two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medals awarded while serving in the United States Marine Corps. He enjoys lazy kayaking, afternoon games at Wrigley Field, shopping at Christkindlmarket, and all art forms of science fiction. He is a proud father of two adult children and one daughter-in-law, and a loving husband for over twenty-five years.
