NEW YORK, May 30, 2008 - Reporters with questions regarding the insurance implications of the crane collapse on the Upper East Side of Manhattan this morning can contact the Insurance Information Institute (I.I.I.).
This tragedy could have multiple insurance ramifications including personal/commercial auto, workers compensation, commercial insurance and life insurance.
On March 15 of this year a similar incident occurred in Manhattan, when a giant crane killed four construction workers and injured more than 10 other people. It also destroyed a four-story townhouse and bar on the lower level and damaged three other buildings.
For information about insurance, go to the I.I.I. Web site.
The I.I.I. is a nonprofit, communications organization supported by the insurance industry.
