NEW YORK, October 15, 2008 - Jeanne Salvatore, the Insurance Information Institute's (I.I.I.) senior vice president, Public Affairs and consumer spokesperson, will be a panelist on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at the U.S. Treasury Department's National Roundtable on Insurance Literacy. The event gets underway at 9 a.m. and continues until 5 p.m. at the U.S. Treasury Department, Washington, D.C.

Ms. Salvatore will discuss the exemplary insurance education programs undertaken in recent years by the I.I.I. and industry sponsored organizations as part of a panel on Best Insurance Education Practices. The session starts at 11 a.m. and ends at 12:15 p.m. Her fellow panelists are Don Rebele, president and chief executive officer, Griffith Insurance Education Foundation, and Phillip Richards, incoming chairman of the board, LIFE Foundation. There will be time allotted at the end of the session for a question and answer segment.

Other panels scheduled for the all-day gathering include Educating Consumers: Industry Perspective; Face to Face with the Consumer: A Report from the Frontlines; and What Americans Should Know About Insurance and Regulation. The latter group of panelists will feature the insurance commissioners from Massachusetts, Ohio and Oregon.
